Motorola Droid goes multitouch in Dolphin Browser
We’ve already seen that the Droid is perfectly capable of implementing multitouch gestures in third-party apps. Dolphin — which has been kicking around for a couple months in the Market — has just added multitouch support on the Droid, which automatically makes it an interesting alternative to Android’s built-in browser.

Motorola Cliq Review: Better Than the Motorola Droid?
The Motorola Droid may be grabbing all the headlines, but it’s not the company’s only — or first — Android-based smartphone. That honor belongs to the Motorola Cliq, which is just about as different from the Droid as an Android-based smartphone could be. And about.com think they like it just a bit better.
Here is part of their review of the Motorola Cliq:
Design
Like the Droid, the Cliq is a slider-style phone, but where the Droid is square and angular, the Cliq is soft and round — and that’s a good thing. I found it much more appealing to look at and more comfortable to hold than the Droid.
When the phone is closed, you see the 3.1-inch touch screen and three touch-sensitive buttons beneath it. The screen is smaller than I’d like, but not so much that it’s unusable. It sports a high resolution (480 by 320 pixels), which helps makes everything look nice and crisp.
The full QWERTY keyboard slides out easily from beneath the display, and is very comfortable to use. The keys are close together, but they’re nicely raised, making them easy to locate and press.

Bottom Line
The Cliq’s Motoblur interface will appeal to social networking fanatics, but anyone else may find it just a bit too much. Underneath that, though, the Cliq is a good-looking, easy-to-use Android phone.

Motorola Milestone Android 2.0 handset spotted in UK
The Motorola Milesetone, otherwise known as the Droid in the US, looks set to hit the UK early next month.
The Android handset has been spotted at a handful of online retailers that state the phone will be available from December 7, despite Motorola saying that there were no plans to release the phone in the UK.
The phone is available from Superetrader, Clove and Expansys for £424, sim-free. Last month we confirmed the Droid wouldn’t be sold by T-Mobile or O2, so it could still be sold via 3 mobile, Orange or Vodafone.
If the sites do have the phone in stock, then it’s likely that the Milestone will be available in mobile phone shops before Christmas.

Google Search by Voice, Motorola Android Droid Invade NYC’s Time Square
For the last few weeks, those who have access to Google Search by voice from their mobile phone have been able to call a special number, do a voice search for a business or tourist attraction, and see the result displayed on the Reuters sign and the NASDAQ sign in Times Square:

What is the Android 2.0 release date for the Motorola Cliq
Here is the response that Android and Me got when they asked Motorola if the T-Mobile Cliq would get 2.0. Note how they say the phone can receive updates, but do not confirm 2.0.
“In regards to CLIQ with MOTOBLUR, it can be upgraded over-the-air and will evolve to support how people’s needs change. However, we haven’t announced any updates at this time.
The Droid that was released with Verizon is 2.0. But at this moment we cannot confirm when an upgrade will be available for the Cliq. However the phone is ready to receive software upgrades to both the Google Android OS, and the Moto Blur interface, therefore upgrades are being planned, but we don’t have a release schedule, or confirmation up to which Android version it’s going to upgrade.”
Doesn’t look good for the Cliq…

Motorola Droid Advertising
There is no doubt who the Motorola Droid advertising is targeted towards: Men 18+. And a new survey from YouGov’s BrandIndex suggests that the Motorola Droid advertising campaign hasn’t only caught your eye, but changed your perception of a once struggling company. In short: Apple and RIM brand loyalty is being pummeled by stealth fighters and shunned in robot voices.

Can Your Motorola Droid Do That?
While the folks over at Verizon probably enjoyed poking fun at the iPhone and AT&T’s network with its “Droid Does” campaign. AT&T certainly wasn’t too happy about those, evidenced by the lawsuit fired in Verizon’s direction. Now the latest ads emphasize that the Motorola Droid on Verizon Wireless can’t make use of its data connection and maintain a voice call at the same time. With the advertisements showing the user performing a variety of tasks such as browsing the Internet, sending an email amongst others, while still maintaining the call. It ends with “can your network or phone do that?” which is an obvious reference to Verizon Wireless and its Motorola Droid.
