Motorola Droid Sales Near the One Million Mark

Even before it was released, the Motorola Droid became very popular thanks to Verizon and Motorola, who spent millions of dollars on an advertising campaign. Now, it seems like their efforts are about to pay off, as sales of the Android 2.0-based smartphone are getting close to one million.
According to a research paper by RBC Capital Markets analyst Mark Sue, Verizon and Motorola have managed to sell between 700,000 and 800,000 Droids so far in the fourth quarter. It is estimated that the one million target will be hit before the end of this year.
