Android 2.2 for Droid Available in June?
Great new coming from PC World:
I got an advance look at Google’s latest treat for Android phones, Android 2.2 (more deliciously known as Froyo) on the Nexus One. Announced this morning at Google I/O in San Francisco, the update will initially be available to Motorola Droid and Nexus One owners in June. Android users will definitely be happy with this update, which delivers faster performance, tethering/mobile hotspot and of course, Flash support.
Google: “Here’s a FREE Nexus One or a Verizon Droid. Go Develop Games!”
To help foster game development growth, Google will presenting a number of Android sessions at the upcoming Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.
Over two days, (February 9th and 10th), Google will give developers a chance to meet engineers from the Android team, participate in Q&A’s, and even take a look at what you might be working on. Google is also giving away free Nexus One and Verizon Droid handsets to “qualified” developers “to celebrate and inspire the mobile and independent game development communities”.
