Motorola Android Cliq Software 1.3.8 Leaked, Official Update Coming Soon?
Motorola had “accidently” released a test version of the update (Software version 1.3.8) for the Motorola Cliq. According to the description of the update, software 1.3.8 included improvements to the battery life, touchscreen sensitivity, improved GPS tracking, a new option for assigning functionality to a double-press of the home button, and more. As quickly as the update was leaked, it was soon pulled after approximately 15 mins. What does this leak mean? Well, it could mean that Motorola Cliq owners could be getting an official update pretty soon.

Motorola Teases Their Super Bowl Ad
Motorola has just put up a teaser video for their commercial. According to Motorola, the ad will air during the 3rd Quarter and feature a well-known celebrity. Check out Motorola’s Facebook page for more info.

Motorola Android MOTOROI Coming To T-Mobile USA?
Earlier reports indicated that Motorola Android MOTOROI might be available on Verizon Wireless, but now word is going around that T-Mobile might be the carrier that will be offering this interestingly-shaped phone. While there isn’t any official word on this just yet, leaked reports a while back indicated that a version of the Motorola Droid without a sliding keyboard would be headed towards T-Mobile, and the MOTOROI would fit that bill nicely. Aside from that, earlier information regarding this phone included descriptions such as “Sholes Tablet T-Mobile US”, not to mention that the FCC approved a phone code-named Sholes, which would support T-Mobile USA’s unique 3G network.

Motorola Devour: DroidRedoes Calgary For Verizon With Android 2.1
We first heard about the Motorola Calgary WAY before any mention of the Sholes, Tao or Droid ever occurred. At one point it was the Calgary – NOT the Droid – that was destined to be the first Android Phone for Verizon. Accessory listing suggests Verizon’s Motorola Calgary is near
It looks like that the second line of Verizon’s Android-powered line from Motorola, the so-called Calgary, is coming soon. This is based on the fact that micro-USB cable accessory showed up on an authorized partner’s site that list the unreleased phone by name.

Free Droid?
Verizon is planning to thank their customers by apparently offering a buy- one- get- one-free deal with the Motorola Droid and the HTC Eris.
This is not confirmed, but supposed to start tomorrow if the rumor is credible.

T-Mobile Losing Interest In Motorola Cliq?
While hype for the Motorola Cliq was high, sales of the phone have unfortunately turned out to be unexpectedly low. So low in fact, that Oppenheimer analyst Ittai Kidron says T-Mobile has actually lost interest in the device–due in part to lingering issues with battery life. T-Mobile spokeswoman Alexandra Trask told FierceWireless that sales have been positive and disputes reports that Cliq sales were “falling behind sales targets.” Confirming a future OTA update for the Cliq, no detail was given regarding what would be addressed in the update or whether or not battery life was a prime reason for the update. Trask also denied reports of the device receiving less support, stating that “It’s very prominently featured in our stores. We’re doing a lot from a marketing perspective and merchandising perspective.”
