  • Download this file
  • Rename the file to update.zip and place it in the root directory of your microSD card
  • Power off the phone
  • Power on the phone while holding the ‘X’ key on the physical keyboard to enter recovery mode
  • When you see the triangle with the exclamation point, press the volume up key and camera button key (only press the camera key down half way)
  • Navigate to “apply update.zip” and press the gold center button on the keyboard to select it. It will start the update process

Motorola Android Droid Speaker Glitch Spotted?

November 15, 2009 by admin · View Comments

Apparently a good amount of people are having trouble with the external speaker on their Motorola Droid cutting out for no reason. It seems to be software-related, and sometimes a reboot fixes it temporarily, but it’s a problem for people relying on the handset as an alarm clock, since you never know when it will strike next. For its part it seems that Motorola is replacing handsets that have the issue, though that’s no guarantee of solving the problem. In the mean time we need to wait for a Motorola software patch or other solution.
